On Friday 27 October, the School of Civil and Mechanical Engineering celebrated its 50 year anniversary with a sundowner event held at the Engineering Pavilion. Around 120 alumni, Industry Advisory Committee members and staff attended, and enjoyed the opportunity to reconnect with each other and the University.
Two of the School’s alumni gave presentations, reminisced and reflected on their time at Curtin in the 60’s and 70’s.
Guests also had the opportunity to tour the facilities, including the Laser, Structural Dynamics and Mechanical Engineering labs where they were shown the Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar, Earthquake shaking tables and ‘Big Blue’ testing equipment.
