A primary school teacher in Geraldton \u00ad\u2013 a regional port city four-hour\u2019s drive north of Perth, Western Australia \u2013 Schuts spends her workdays among the eager smiles and laughter of a class of five- and six-year-olds.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tracy Bennett, BEd (Primary Education) via Open Universities Australia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy passion for what I was learning inspired me to achieve something I didn\u2019t think I was capable of. I didn\u2019t only get a Bachelor of Education from the last four years \u2013 I made amazing friends and I developed a belief in myself that was never there before. And this was all achieved from the other end of a computer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jared Bruning, BEd (Primary Education) (Hons)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s amazing to experience the innovative lessons that seem to \u201ctake off\u201d as it were and help students become engaged and excited about their learning, almost to the point at times that they\u2019d rather not let the lesson end. I think in a number of ways this reality flows out of what my tutors and lecturer modelled for me. In a number of units I had tutors who pursued excellence in their work, set a high standard and communicated their knowledge, understandings and passions in an engaging and interesting way.
