Courses<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Networking Essentials<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Cisco Networking Academy’s Networking Essentials course provides learners with a broad foundational understanding of networking. It is suitable for anyone interested in a career in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), or a related career pathway. Networking Essentials is self-paced. The primary emphasis is on networking knowledge with a small amount of basic skills that are useful for a home or a small office home office (SOHO) network. This course includes activities that expand on the course material presented. Upon completion of this course, the end-of-course survey, and the end-of-course assessment, the student will receive a Certificate of Completion. They will also receive a digital badge if the course is taken with an instructor in an instructor-led class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Linux<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This comprehensive Linux course is designed for beginners looking to deepen their understanding and proficiency in the Linux operating system. Starting with the fundamentals of Linux architecture, command-line navigation, and file management, the course gradually progresses to cover more advanced topics such as shell scripting, system administration, networking, and security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This introduces students to the fundamentals of computer hardware and software, mobile devices, security and networking concepts, and the responsibilities of an IT professional. The latest release includes mobile devices, Linux, and client-side virtualisation, as well as expanded information about Microsoft Windows operating systems, security, networking, and troubleshooting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

              He has worked in the field of assistive technology for more than 25 years both as a practitioner and researcher. Currently employed as the Curriculum Lead \u2013 Engineering and in the School of Electrical Engineering, Computing & Mathematical Sciences, his research interest include: learning environments for people with vision impairment, embedded sensors in health applications, the Internet of Things and assistive technology.<\/p>\n

              He founded the \u201cCisco Academy for the Vision Impaired\u201d in 2002 to deliver ICT training to vision impaired people globally. He has supervised over 20 research students\u2019 completions and published in excess of 110 peer reviewed articles in the fields of IoT, engineering education and assistive technology. He is a Member of the Order of Australia, Fellow of the Australian Computer Society, Curtin Academy Fellow and a senior member of the IEEE.<\/p>\n

              Current research focusses on IoT and sensors in health\/medical applications. He has been involved in the research and development of assistive technology for over 25 years and is on the board of directors for VisAbility and Guidedogs WA and is the founder of the Cisco Academy for the Vision Impaired (CAVI, a not for profit organisation that delivers ICT training to blind and vision impaired students in more than 14 countries).<\/p>\n"},{"id":"nazanin","title":"","content":"

              Driven by a deep interest in engineering education and accessibility, Dr. Mohammadi actively conducts research to enhance learning experiences for students of all backgrounds and abilities. <\/p>\n

              Her work focuses on developing innovative teaching methods and technologies that promote inclusivity and accessibility in STEM education.<\/p>\n

              As a Cisco networking instructor and instructor trainer, Dr. Mohammadi plays a pivotal role in including a hands-on approach to teaching, combined with a thorough understanding of industry standards, ensuring that students are well-equipped with work-ready skills in networking and information technology.<\/p>\n"},{"id":"billy-wolfe","title":"","content":"

              Billy’s skills include web accessibility analysing, bash and python scripting, and the ability to learn new skills quickly.<\/p>\n

              Billy has two associate degrees in Broadcasting and Computer Programming. He uses the skills gained from his education to both improve accessibility on Linux and to advocate for accessibility improvements.<\/p>\n
