National Drug Research Institute

NDRI

A national Centre of Excellence in drug research, the Curtin-based National Drug Research Institute (NDRI) is a vital part of the national strategy to address the harm arising from drug use in Australia.

Formed in 1986, the institute plays a key role in national harm prevention strategies through research designed to establish the preventive potential of legislative, economic, regulatory and educational interventions.

The NDRI works in collaboration with a broad range of agencies and research centres locally, nationally and internationally. The institute is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for the Prevention of Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
