Are you interested in jump starting a career in computer science? If you're a year 11 or 12 student interested in a career in computer science, software engineering or information technology, Curtin is giving you the opportunity to jump start your university studies by completing a fee-free foundational Software Technology 151 course while studying in your final year(s) of high school.

The course will be taught after school and will be tailored to the needs of high school students who are interested in studying computing at a university level. This course is a foundation unit which you will be given credit for, should you decide to study your computing degree at Curtin.

Only a limited number of places will be offered, so register your interest by filling out the registration form below before 28 November 2008.

You will be informed of your placement into the program by the start of term 1 2009.

High school students enrolled in Curtin's foundational Software Technology 151 course will be taught the basic concepts and skills required to design and code object oriented software, including designing software to specifications and implementing designs in an object oriented programming language. Emphasis is placed on generic skills that can be applied to any programming language at a commercial level.

The primary requirements for interested students are an interest in computing as a career and a strong motivation towards university studies.

This fee-free course will be run during school terms 1 and 2 in 2009.
